Only three more weeks to the big event! I can't wait. Hope I see all my friends there lined up for the race. Yes, that's me, Skamper Prairie Dog on the official race t-shirt.

How SKaMPEr Came to Be
SKaMPEr Prairie Dog was an idea hatched by Muriel Fahrion (original artist behind Classic Strawberry Shortcake and the first 6 Care Bears). She felt the SUPER KIDS MARATHON needed a mascot. She was considering what species might represent Medicine Park, OK when Lori Cummins (Marathon Organizer) suggested a Prairie Dog. Muriel sat down at the drawing board and used up an entire sketch pad before SKaMPEr was born. His name came later inspired by how the critter run. The first SK in his name also stands for "Super Kids".
